Lisa has been creating stories since she was six, when her teacher kindly typed them up and stapled them into ‘books’ that she’d proudly illustrate and share with her (very impressed) family.
By grade six, things got weird. Chosen to represent her school in a writing workshop, Lisa wrote a story about a pineapple that was eaten, pooped out into the sewage system, and found its way back to a tropical island. The story was read at school assembly and left everyone in stitches. Lisa loved the feeling of being able to make people laugh, and she was hooked.
Now a senior creative copywriter with 20 years of experience, Lisa has won awards, some laughs, and still gets a kick out of making people smile with her words and ideas.
She writes children’s stories inspired by her childhood, her son, and all the feelings that come with being little in a big world. Her hope? To make kids laugh, feel seen, and know the world can be a joyful place.
With a communications degree, a Writing Picture Books course, and a playful imagination, Lisa’s on a mission to share more laughter, love, and light with kids everywhere.
